Product FAQ

What are compatible cartridges?

A compatible cartridge is a brand new cartridge containing only new components and manufactured by an independent company. Compatible cartridges are specifically manufactured to meet or exceed Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) specifications. These cartridges offer a high standard of quality and reliability. Compatible cartridges are an economical alternative to expensive original cartridges which allow you to enjoy big savings over the equivelent original cartridge.

What are remanufactured cartridges?

Remanufactured cartridges are recycled Original/OEM cartridges.  The recycling and remanufacturing process involves inspecting, disassembling, cleaning, replacing worn out parts, reassembling, and refilling the toner or ink. Once the process is complete, the cartridge is then tested, sealed, and ready to be sold. The use of remanufactured ink cartridges helps reduce the number of cartridges that are disposed of and they are collected through a number of recycling schemes, helping to reduce the burden on landfill sites. The use of Remanufactured cartridges helps the enviroment as well as saving you money.

What are original/OEM cartridges?

Original/OEM cartridges are manufactured by the printer manufacturer itself (Epson, Canon etc). Original/OEM cartridges are highly reliable, easy to use and provide trouble free printing but are more expensive than compatible or remanufactured cartridges. OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer and we refer to them as Original cartridges on our site.

Do your compatible cartridges come with the chip on them?

Some of our cartridges do come with the chip on them if their equivalent OEMs come with a chip and some don't. If the cartridge we sell does not come with a chip then we will clearly state "No Chip" in the description. If the description states "No Chip" then a chip must be removed from the same-color original cartridge and placed on the compatible cartridge. The process is easy, and full printed instructions are included.

Does using remanufactured/compatible ink cartridges or toner void my warranty?

Major printer manufacturers sell printers at low or no profit cost. They make their profits from selling the cartridges or toners. Previously, you had no choice but to buy one of their cartridges/toners after yours ran dry. Now you can cut into their primary source of profit by using compatible/remanufactured cartridges and toners. To protect their own interests, they will threaten to void your printer warranty if you use compatible/remanufactured cartridges/toners. However, it is strictly illegal for them to do so. They can not void your warranty simply for using different manufacturer's cartridges. We have sold hundreds of compatible cartridges and never had an incident where a customer's warranty was "voided" from using our products.
