The Cartridge is not recognised by the printer.
The cartridge is not being recognised by the printer because it cannot read the chip off of the cartridge. Remove the cartridge and check that nothing is obstructing the printer contacts from contacting the cartridge chip, then carefully reinsert the cartridge. If this doesn't solve the issue, remove the cartridge again and carefully clean the chip contacts with a cotton wool bud and a small amount of solvent such as white spirit, WD40 or nail polish remover, DO NOT USE WATER. Once the chip contacts have been cleaned, reinsert the cartridge. If this fails to solve the issue, the chip is too damaged and the cartridge will not print.
Printer is printing blank pages.
Ensure you have removed all the tapes from the cartridge. Depending on what cartridge it is, it will either have a tear off tape at the top of the cartridge or a protective film tape on the bottom of the cartridge. If all the tapes have been removed, then please carry out a printer head clean operation. Details of how to do this varies from printer to printer but details can be obtained from your printers manual or help files.
Printer is indicating the cartridge is empty but it isn't.
Instead of reading actual ink levels, many printers keeps a count of the number of pages printed. Once you install new original cartridge it starts the count again. When you install compatible cartridges, the printer sometimes doesn't reset the ink level automatically. Once it has printed it's quota of pages the printer 'thinks' that the cartridge is empty even if it is full of ink.
Recommended Solution:
Restarting your printer may overcome the signal and reset the ink level. The printer will then print normally until the ink supply is minimal. If this does not solve the problem, find out if the cartridge has a copper chip at the bottom. If the cartridge has a chip you should gently clean this chip with a tissue paper or cotton bud. Also, gently clean the copper chip in the printer itself where you insert the cartridge. After this cleaning procedure reinstall the cartridge and restart your printer.
The printing quality is Poor.
Try the following steps below if you feel that the printing quality is Poor.
Verify that you are using the correct and latest printer drivers for your printer model.
Check the type of paper being used. If it is coated inkjet paper, make sure that printable side of this paper is face up. If the printout is faint, check the printer driver to make sure you have not selected Economy/Draft/Fast under resolution/quality option. Make sure the Media Type setting matches the paper or media loaded because selecting the wrong paper/media type will always cause poor print outs. Make sure that Colour Adjustment Mode options are set correctly for your document type. Check your printers manual or on-line help for further suggestions.
